Jim Root: "Environmental Portraiture"

For several years, Jim Root has pursued environmental portraiture of children with the intent of capturing a feeling or moment unique to each subject. The moment belongs to the particular subject, but the feeling that each image evokes is one that is universal and basic to many. Children project a simple, straightforward feeling that has no inhibitions or need of explanations. All images were recorded with a medium format camera with varying black and white films.  Silver prints on archival paper are available for purchase.
