Bruce Starrenburg: "Route des Abbayes"

LightBox Inc. presents the series "Route of Abbeys" by Bruce Starrenburg
as our first on-line fine art show. This current work is from a series
of 7.5 x 7.5 inch toned gelatin silver prints. The work highlights a brief
encounter with the timeless presence of Normandy, France. The images reflect
the spiritual energy of the ancient abbey ruins and beautiful cathedrals
of the region. The commitment to the dark room process is a life-long
interest. Thus, achieving the highest quality print is an important part
of Bruce's personal expression.
The "Route of Abbeys" portfolio is limited to an edition of 35 prints of each image (12). Each print is signed and numbered and, upon closing the edition, the negative will be destroyed. The photographs were made using a medium format camera and printed personally by the artist. When printing this portfolio, Howard Bond's unsharp masking method (known as unsharp masking) was employed increasing edge sharpness and detail, allowing print quality that cannot be achieved by conventional means. Each print is archivally processed and toned for permanence. They are mounted on museum board and window matted, ready for framing. |
